Senior Civil Engineer I/II – Land Development

Salary Range: $95,000–$120,000 per year

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer I/II to support a variety of land development projects in the San Diego area. This position is ideal for an experienced civil engineer who can independently solve complex design problems while collaborating with project teams, clients, and public agencies.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop land development designs based on site conditions, project constraints, client goals, agency requirements, and engineering best practices
- Prepare technical reports and perform complex engineering calculations
- Complete grading designs and earthwork calculations
- Perform hydrology, hydraulics, water quality, stormwater detention, drainage, and utility-sizing calculations
- Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittals, and construction changes
- Conduct thorough QA/QC and completeness reviews of engineering work products
- Train and provide technical guidance to junior engineering staff
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, public agencies, and other project stakeholders
- Manage multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy, quality, and project deadlines
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited four-year institution
- Five to seven years of relevant civil engineering experience
- Strong land development design experience
- At least two years of experience independently solving complex land development engineering problems
- Active Engineer-in-Training certification
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Land Development Desktop, and/or Civil 3D
- Experience with grading, drainage, hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater, and utility design
- Strong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
- Must be a U.S. citizen
